The Minnesota State Fair set a single day attendance record Saturday, when more than 252,000 people walked through the gates.

The previous record for daily visitors was more than 236,000 visitors, set on the last Sunday of the 2013 fair, according to the Fair's web site.

Through Saturday, nearly 1.47 million people have visited the fair this year. The record for total attendance, set in 2009, is nearly 1.8 million.

The State Fair is open through Monday.
