Colleges across the country have seen a wave of luxury housing development in the last decade.

These apartments are aimed solely at students, and often demand high monthly rents.

The trend is evident at the University of Minnesota. The rise of new multistory housing complexes has transformed Dinkytown and Marcy-Holmes, neighborhoods that surround the campus.

Bill Dane, an attorney with the University of Minnesota who works on housing-related issues, and Steve Crawford, a senior vice president with the largest developer, owner and manager of student housing communities in the country, join The Daily Circuit to discuss the trend.
