Emma Taggart from Blaine, Minn. was a Minnesota Varsity 2017 Showcase Artist. She recently got in touch with Classical MPR's Christine Sweet to share her latest news.

Seems like just yesterday I heard my name being called on the radio as a Minnesota Varsity finalist! It was such a fun experience, one that I will always treasure!
This past August, my brother, Jacob, and I were privileged to attend the 2017 "Grand Piano in Palace" St. Petersburg International Piano Festival & Summer Academy in Russia. We took private lessons from master pianists from around the world, gave concerts in prestigious venues such as the Marble Palace, played a concerto with the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra and competed in solo, duo and concerti competitions where both Jacob and I won the Grand Prix award. It was such an exciting trip and one that we will never forget!
