The April issue of Minnesota Monthly features two different ideas for spring travel — by rails and by trails.
The first trip is about taking your family to Wisconsin Dells via the train — it turns out that taking kids on this trip is fantastic, as they can run around the train and not just whine "are we there yet?" from the backseat of the car.
The second trip is focused on the country's waterways being designated as the official national Water Trail system. One of our writers got together with J.D. Fratzke of the Strip Club restaurant to kayak the Mississippi down to Hastings (they are old high school buddies from Winona and both love the river).
