Little Richard's hometown celebrates his birthday
Richard Wayne Penniman, or Little Richard as he is known worldwide, turns 85 Tuesday.
In honor of his birthday, his hometown of Macon, Ga., is holding a series of events. There will be celebration of his career and his former home will be open to the public for tours.
With the recent death of Fats Domino, Don Everly, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard are now the only surviving members of the first group of pioneers who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
