Glen Campbell's doctor reflects on singer's contribution to Alzheimer's awareness
Tributes are coming in from all corners of the music world after the death of singer, TV and movie star Glen Campbell, who died Tuesday at the age of 81.
He had been living with the devastating effects of memory loss due to Alzheimer's disease since being diagnosed in late 2010. Campbell continued to perform after the diagnosis, doing a tour that came to the Twin Cities in April 2012.
Campbell received treatment at Rochester's Mayo Clinic for the disease. A documentary was made about his experience called "I'll Be Me." The film also featured his doctor, Ron Petersen, who spoke with MPR's Cathy Wurzer about Campbell's life.
