Tiffany's 'I Think We're Alone Now' topped charts 30 years ago

Tiffany's "I Think We're Alone Now" was No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart 30 years ago.

She recorded the song, which had been a hit for Tommy James and the Shondells, when she was 15 years old.

Her record label convinced a marketing company that showcased products in shopping malls to hire her. So in the summer of 1987, between her sophomore and junior years in high school, Tiffany gave free concerts in malls across the country. This song was a crowd favorite.
