Minneapolis police chief responds to ACLU arrest report

A new, extensive analysis conducted by the American Civil Liberties Union has found that African Americans in Minneapolis are nearly nine times more likely than whites to be arrested for low-level offenses.

Officials at the Minneapolis Police Department acknowledge the disparities but say there is much more behind the numbers than what appears on the surface.

MPR News' Tom Weber talked with Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau and Chuck Samuelson of the ACLU of Minnesota about the report.
