Police: Minnetonka man shot in face by teenage son

Authorities say a Minnetonka man is in critical condition after being shot by his 15-year-old son.

Police officers and firefighters responded to reports of an explosion at a home Monday evening. When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered a man had been shot in the face. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

According to a press release, the man's teenage son was found unarmed outside of the house. He was arrested in the driveway.

Officials haven't confirmed whether the shooting was accidental or intentional.

An investigation is ongoing.
