A Crystal man accused of killing his son has been indicted on counts of first-degree premeditated murder and intentional second-degree murder by a Hennepin County grand jury.

The charges are stiffer than those initially filed against 33-year-old Pierre Collins, who was charged in April with second-degree murder in Barway's death.

According to court records, the latest indictment came last week.

Collins is accused of killing his 10-year-old son Barway Collins on March 18. Nearly a month later when the boy's body was recovered from the Mississippi River.

Pierre Collins' next court hearing is set for July.
