Low pressure swirls east into Wisconsin today and high pressure feeds cooler air in from the north. The cool off is temporary. Our next October warm front pushes in from the Dakotas this weekend.

Another fantastic weekend

In the metro and southern Minnesota you may forget it's still October this weekend. A windy but mild Saturday gives way to less wind and temps at or above 80 degrees by Sunday afternoon as the thermal ridge, the zone of warmest air passes directly overhead at maximum temperature time around 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The record high Sunday at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is 84 degrees.
Frost potential next Friday?
The first real shot at frost in the inner metro core appears to arrive the morning of Friday Oct. 16. If the metro manages to escape frost next Friday morning, this could be one of the latest 32 degree readings in years in the metro. More 70s in late October?
