Father arrested in fatal shooting of son in Blaine

Police in a Twin Cities suburb say a man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of his adult son.

Authorities say the 61-year-old father called Blaine police about 7 a.m. Friday and told them he had just shot his 38-year-old son.

Officers say when they arrived the man was cooperative when taken into custody. The adult son was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with gunshot wounds and died from his injuries.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office and Centennial Lakes police assisted Blaine officers.
