Two weeks ago when northbound Interstate 35W in the north metro was closed for resurfacing work, you knew it was coming. Now it's here: This weekend, it's southbound I-35W's turn to close. But that appears to be the worst of the road mess.

Weather bonus: It's going to be a spectacular summer weekend.

Here's your guide to this weekend's traffic impacts from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

I-35W, Roseville and New Brighton

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, the interstate closes between Interstate 694 and Minnesota Highway 36.

Ramp closures begin at 9 p.m. Friday.

Interstate 94, St. Paul and Maplewood

From now through mid-August, the right lane of northbound McKnight Road from Burns Avenue to just north of the I-94 overpass is closed.

Motorists will still have access to McKnight Road from eastbound I-94

Minnesota Highway 280, St. Paul and Lauderdale

OK, so this is a bit of good and bad news.

The good: Highway 280 is now open two lanes in each direction between Broadway Street and Como Avenue. All ramps and loops are also open at Como and Larpenteur avenues.

The bad: Consider this an early heads up. Southbound Highway 280 is scheduled to close next weekend between Broadway Street and Como Avenue. Then Aug. 12-15, the northbound segment closes.
