Daily Digest: Shooting near protest site

Good morning, and welcome to Tuesday in what for many of us is a short work week.

1. There was a shooting overnight near the 4th precinct Minneapolis police station where people have been protesting the death of Jamar Clark. Five people were hurt, and police are looking for three men. (MPR News)

2. Gov. Mark Dayton says he's seen video from the night Jamar Clark was shot and it doesn't show much about the differing accounts of what happened. (MPR News)

3. The governor is keeping up his push for expanded preschool. (Pioneer Press)

4. I tend not to cite too many polls, especially at this point in the campaign. But this one is interesting. It shows most people don't trust the federal government and that Republicans are much angrier than Democrats. (Pew Research Center)

5. This made me think about why my newspaper delivery has been unreliable lately. (MinnPost)
