Uh, boy: Twin Cities weekend road hassles will not be fun
The Minnesota Department of Transportation's road construction map is packed this weekend with road and ramp closures across the Twin Cities. That includes the shutdown of a key stretch of eastbound Interstate 94, starting Friday night.
A bunch of big events, including the Twin Cities Pride Festival in Minneapolis and the "Back to the 50's" classic car show on the grounds of the Minnesota State Fair will make travel that much more complicated. Take a deep breath and read on.

• Eastbound I-94 from Interstate 394 to Interstate 35W closes at 10 p.m. Friday until Sunday afternoon. The westbound side will be open.
• On Sunday afternoon, all traffic will flow through the eastbound tunnel with two, 10-foot-wide lanes in each direction separated by a concrete barrier. There will not be shoulders. The speed limit will be 40 mph in the tunnel and large, freight hauling trucks are prohibited. It's expected to stay that way through early August.
• Friday through Sunday ramp closures include Minnesota Highway 55 to eastbound I-94 and eastbound I-394 to eastbound I-94.
• Ramp closures starting Saturday include: northbound I-35W to westbound I-94; 4th Avenue S to westbound I-94; westbound I-94 to westbound I-394; westbound I-94 to Highway 55.
U.S. Highway 169, Edina to Golden Valley
• Northbound Highway 169 between Minnesota highways 7 and 55, and the ramp from eastbound I-394 to northbound Highway 169, will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
• The ramps from northbound Highway 169 to Minnesota Highway 7, and from southbound Highway 169 to Highway 7, will be closed through July 3.
I-94, St. Paul to Maplewood
• The right lane (local access lane) and all ramps on westbound I-94 between Minnesota Highway 120/Century Avenue and Mounds Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
• The following ramps will close on Friday: Hudson Road to westbound I-94 (the far east entrance ramp in front of 3M) and White Bear Avenue to westbound I-94.
• The right lane on northbound Highway 120/Century Avenue from just south of I-94 to 3M/Innovation Road will be closed through mid-July.
