Today's Morning Edition music is from The Bad Plus with "As This Moment Slips Away," a track off the group's new album, which came out this week called "The Bad Plus Joshua Redman."

The trio, founded in Minneapolis, is joined on this record by tenor saxophonist Redman.

NPR's jazz critic Tom Moon called the collaboration "a roaring and beautiful summit meeting." He described this tune as what " 'Band On The Run' might have sounded like if Paul McCartney and the Wings replaced the happy triads with dissonant chord clusters in 7/4 time."
