Minneapolis police shoot, wound suspected carjacker
Minneapolis police shot and a wounded a suspected carjacker in north Minneapolis early on Thursday.
Police received reports of an armed carjacking and kidnapping shortly before 4 a.m., said department spokesperson John Elder.
Officers located the suspects at 21st Avenue and Bryant Avenue North. The suspects fled on foot, one of whom was armed with a handgun, Elder said.
An officer fired shots and wounded one suspect, although Elder said the suspect's injuries are not life-threatening. Two suspects were arrested. Police also recovered a handgun at the scene.
Police did not immediately release any information about the apparent kidnapping victim.
