Daily Digest: Arrests and marches

Good Wednesday morning. Lots of news for the day before Thanksgiving, so here we go.

1. Three people are in police custody after five people were shot near ongoing Black Lives Matter protests Monday night. Another man was arrested and then released. Meanwhile, demonstrators held a huge march from north Minneapolis to downtown yesterday. (MPR News)

2. In Chicago, hundreds of people marched last night after authorities released the video of a police officer killing a black teenager. The officer has been charged with murder. (NPR)

3. University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler got praise and criticism after firing Norwood Teague, based on a look at his email. (Star Tribune)

4.  A Republican staffer in Minnesota lost a job after an insulting racial tweet. (AP via Pioneer Press)

5. Four Republican presidential candidates will get equal time on NBC this weekend because Donald Trump got to host Saturday Night Live. (NPR)

My plan for now is to take tomorrow and Friday off from the Digest. If there's more big news that could change. If not, have a good Thanksgiving,  and I'll see you here Monday.
