The Minnesota Orchestra has unveiled the schedule for its popular Sommerfest summer concert series.

The events, which will last from July 5 until Aug. 1, include programs focused on the music of faraway places in addition to a performance of Puccinni's "Madame Butterfly" and Sommerfest's annual evening of Strauss waltzes.

Conductor Andrew Litton will return to lead the festival for the 12th time. This year's emphasis, Lytton said, will be on great music — and informality, with a relaxed atmosphere.

The festival — which will be held indoors — will include the Orchestra Hall debuts of pianist Nachito Herrera and internet sensations Igudesman and Joo.
