School bus runs over legs of student in Pelican Rapids

An elementary school student is recovering after a school bus ran over his legs as he got off a bus in Pelican Rapids.

The Daily Journal of Fergus Falls reports the boy was exiting the bus Wednesday afternoon when he tripped and another bus that was coming to park ran over his legs.

Pelican Rapids Police Chief Jeff Stadum says the student was among elementary students who take a bus for after-school programs at the high school, where the accident happened.

Stadum says the boy was taken to a hospital and his parents were notified. He says he understands the boy is doing well.
