Ticket scalpers missing from Timberwolves games due to app

If you go to Wednesday night's Timberwolves games against Toronto, you may notice something is missing outside Target Center: ticket scalpers.

Wolves season-ticket holders have been using an app called Flash Seats that generates a bar code on a smartphone in place of a paper ticket.

As a result, they don't get physical tickets that can be bought and sold on the street.

The Minnesota Wild will be using a similar system next year.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Bob Collins, who writes the NewsCut blog for MPR News, and who's been thinking about the implications of this trend.
