Students mourn loss of 2 classmates in Arden Hills

Students at a suburban St. Paul high school offered support to each other as they grieved the loss of two junior classmates who were killed in a car crash.

A third student was injured and remains hospitalized following the crash in Arden Hills Thursday morning. Mounds View High School Principal Jeff Ridlehoover says all three girls "were highly engaged and wonderful young people."

The students' car was traveling west on Highway 96 and about to turn on Old Highway 10 when it was struck by another vehicle near the high school. Authorities say the two girls died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was not detained. Students held a vigil in the school commons Thursday evening.
