Police say student's hanging death was accidental

Police say the death of a student who was hanged at White Bear Lake Area High School was an accident.

Fourteen-year-old Sawyer Moeller died last Friday after he was injured in the performing arts area of the North Campus the week before. White Bear Lake Capt. Dale Hager says there were no witnesses to the incident, but that police believe it was an accident.

In a statement released by officials, Moeller's mother, Kris Nordstrom, said some teenage boys were "goofing around after school" when her son was alone briefly. She says a friend returned to find her son injured, called 911 and began CPR.

Nordstrom says her son's organs have been donated.
