Ramsey Co. authorities arrest 23 in domestic violence sweep

Ramsey County authorities say police and sheriff's deputies arrested 23 people Wednesday in a domestic violence sweep.

Everyone arrested had already been charged with domestic violence crimes but skipped out on their court dates, Ramsey County Sheriff Matt Bostrom said.

Officers tried to serve 128 warrants in all, and will continue looking for people still not in custody.

"What we've noticed is, after we knock on those doors, those folks we were looking for, even though we didn't find them, in these subsequent days, they're going to come turn themselves in," said Bostrom.

The effort was part of an annual national family violence apprehension effort.
