Another fence on Pennsylvania Avenue

Following up on yesterday’s post about White House security, we have first evidence of changes in the wake of the incident over the weekend in which an Iraq war veteran stormed the “people’s house.”

It’s another fence.

Two layers of fence are seen along the North Lawn of the White House in Washington, Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014. One fence is the North Lawn perimeter fence and the other is a linked portable fence. In the event of a similar attack in the future, this should buy the Secret Service a few more seconds to wake up.

If it doesn’t work, a moat may remain an option.
